At Hill Haven, everything really started with the arrival of “Big K”. We purchased SCOTSDALE KELINA 4F at Shadybrook’s 2000 production sale. She was big, broody and solid red and she had a quiet, graceful, feminine aura about her. Most importantly, we simply fell in love with her.  A longtime shorthorn breeder from the U.S. was at the sale and when we asked for his advice on choosing a cow to buy, he said, pick what you love and you won’t go wrong - so we did. The rest at Hill Haven is history. The Kelina cows are our premier foundation females. We have two of the Kelina 4F daughters in our herd - HILL HAVEN REBECCA 5P and HILL HAVEN SIERRA 7S and two granddaughters, AR SU LU KELINA 648 whom we purchased from Bakenhus in Nebraska in 2006, and Hill Haven Breathless 13U.
