You can't get into the Shorthorn breeding game midlife unless you have some really great and honest advice from the start.We are very fortunate to have Archie Currie of Glen Islay Shorthorns - just down the road. Archie is generous with his time and patient with our endless questions. In 2001, he helped us pick two bred heifers from his herd and they became additions 4 and 5 to our herd. GLEN ISLAY ROSE 2J is still with us along with several daughters and granddaughters. ROSE 2J is the head of the most prolific cow family at Hill Haven - we have shown, sold and kept more Rose Family females than the rest put together.
